Chinese Muslims Are Banned From Having Abnormal Beards Or Wearing Veils

China has announced that it is implementing new measures including a ban on ‘abnormal’ beards in its heavily Muslim region of Xinjiang.

Veils have also been banned in public places along with refusing to watch or listen to state media, as part of the new ‘Regulations on Extremisation of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.’ China claims that the legal, cultural and religious rights of Muslims in Xinjiang are fully protected.

However many Muslim Uighur people resent increasing restrictions on their culture and religion and complain they are denied economic opportunities amid an influx of Han Chinese into the province.

The new rules posted to news.ts.cn yesterday state: ‘Parents should use good m0ral conduct to influence their children, educate them to revere science, persue culture, uphold ethnic unity and refuse and oppose extremism’.

Workers in public spaces such as stations and airports will be asked to ‘dissuade’ those who fully cover their bodies including veiling their faces from entering.

They will also be required to report them to the police.

The new rules is set to come into effect today, April 1.

5 Underwear Mistakes You Didn’t Know You’re Making

YOU RE-WEAR THEM BEFORE WASHING

Hey, here’s a fun stat: The average pair of dirty underwear contains between one-tenth and one full gram of feces, according to Philip Tierno, Ph.D., director of clinical microbiology at New York University and author of The Secret Life of Germs.

Wash your underwear after each use on high heat, 150 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

YOU DRY THEM WRONG

The heat from your dryer takes the stretch out of elastic, leaving your underwear loose and baggy. Dry with a cool or delicate cycle instead of high heat to go easy on the fabric.

YOU BUY THE WRONG COLOR

Any kind of white clothing shows stains easily, including underwear. Opt for darker colors like navy, gray, and black; they take longer to fade, and you won’t have to replace them as frequently.

YOU BUY TIGHTY WHITIES

They’re outdated. If you like the comfort of the fit, try a cotton blend boxer brief instead; it’s just as cozy and much more flattering.

YOU BUY THE WRONG FABRIC

Before you buy another 6-pack of briefs, check the materials label. Regular cotton underwear is light and breathable—good for casual, day-to-day wear.

Microfiber underwear wicks away moisture. Steer clear of spandex, which traps sweat instead of wicking it. This can lead to infections and less-than-pleasant smells.

‘Why I R@ped 7-Month-Old Baby’- Man Arrested In Katsina For Raping Step-Daughter

The 57-year-old man, Magaji Dansale, who yesterday confessed to raping his seven-month-old stepdaughter, has described hi action as “regrettable and an act of the devil”.

Paraded alongside other suspected criminals at the Katsina Police Command headquarters yesterday, he said his action was uncalled for, and pleaded for leniency.

The native of Dangaske Village of Jikamshi in Danmusa Local Government Area, as reported by Daily Trust said:

“I had dreamt that if I had $ex with the girl I would stop my unwanted frequent travels, so I went ahead and did what I did.”

He said before he married the girl’s mother, he was fond of travelling frequently and never stayed in
one place but when his first wife left him with six children, he began to stay at home.

“No sooner had I remarried than my past habit of travelling returned that was when I had the dream one night. I swear, there was no motive behind my action, it was just ordained by God that such would happen to me and it happened,” he said.

When asked why he chose the step daughter instead of his biological daughter, Dansale said,

“She is also my child, I just don’t know how it happened. I  regret my action and want to plead for leniency.”

The girl’s mother, 25-year-old Zinnai Muntari, said when she woke up for the morning prayers and saw blood on the private part of the baby, her husband asked her to bring the child and after observing her, said it was pile and hurried out to bring some herbs to use on her.

“As a mother, I felt this was unusual and reached out for help at the General Hospital Malumfashi where the doctor confirmed it was a forceful entry that tore the vagina up to the anus. They later referred us to the Umar Turai Children and Maternity Hospital in Katsina,” she said.

The girl’s biological father, Ibrahim Nuhu, said there was no going back until justice is served.

“All I want now is to save the life of my daughter and for justice to take its course to serve as deterrent to others,” he said.

The state Commissioner of Police, Usman Abdullahi, described the matter as “disheartening and very pathetic”.

“We suspect that the woman was drugged, for how come with probably all the screaming of the baby the mother couldn’t wake up? I assure you, we will charge him to court to get the case to its logical conclusion,” he said as he appealed to residents to collectively help check such increasing societal ills.

“It is worrisome for Katsina, the rise in R@pe cases is alarming. Last year alone, over 110 cases of R@pe were handled,” he said.

April Fools Day: See These INTERESTING Facts About It

April Fools Day is fast approaching and some of you are already warming up to pull your baddest stunt yet. April Fools’ Day (sometimes called All Fools’ Day) is celebrated every year on 1 April by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. The jokes and their victims are called April fools.

People playing April Fool jokes expose their prank by shouting April Fool. Some newspapers, magazines, and other published media report fake stories, which are usually explained the next day or below the news section in small letters. Wondering how the day came to be, well GLTRENDS has a thing or two for you…

– April Fools’ Day, sometimes called All Fools’ Day, is one of the most light-hearted days of the year. Its origins are uncertain. Some see it as a celebration related to the turn of the seasons, while others believe it stems from the adoption of a new calendar.

– Ancient cultures, including those of the Romans and Hindus, celebrated New Year’s Day on or around April 1. It closely follows the vernal equinox (March 20th or March 21st.) In medieval times, much of Europe celebrated March 25, the Feast of Annunciation, as the beginning of the new year.

– In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII ordered a new calendar (the Gregorian Calendar) to replace the old Julian Calendar. The new calendar called for New Year’s Day to be celebrated Jan. 1. That year, France adopted the reformed calendar and shifted New Year’s day to Jan. 1. According to a popular explanation, many people either refused to accept the new date, or did not learn about it, and continued to celebrate New Year’s Day on April 1. Other people began to make fun of these traditionalists, sending them on “fool’s errands” or trying to trick them into believing something false. Eventually, the practice spread throughout Europe.

– Another explanation of the origins of April Fools’ Day was provided by Joseph Boskin, a professor of history at Boston University. He explained that the practice began during the reign of Constantine, when a group of court jesters and fools told the Roman emperor that they could do a better job of running the empire. Constantine, amused, allowed a jester named Kugel to be king for one day. Kugel passed an edict calling for absurdity on that day, and the custom became an annual event.

– April Fools’ Day is observed throughout the Western world. Practices include sending someone on a “fool’s errand,” looking for things that don’t exist; playing pranks; and trying to get people to believe ridiculous things.

What do you think???

50 Cent Dumps Chris Brown’s Tour Over Appearance Fee

Rapper, 50 Cent has dumped Chris Brown’s tour, weeks into its promotion over a huge money gap between 50’s camp and the promoter behind Chris’ tour.

Sources told TMZ 50 Cent was all in to be the lead guest on The Party Tour after initial talks with Chris’ camp, where both sides agreed on his fee for the gig. Live Nation, the company putting on the show also assumed 50 was in and began putting his name and image on promotional materials.

However, when time arrives to sign on the dotted line, Live Nation and 50 were “hundreds of thousands of dollars apart” on terms. There was an attempt to negotiate but the rapper finally dumped the tour two weeks ago. The tour continued to be hyped with 50 for at least another week.

Some fans are now pissed, claiming they bought tickets just to see 50 Cent. The tour kicks off Friday in Baltimore, and TMZ was told no refunds will be given because Chris, the headliner, will be there as scheduled.

Guys; Check Out The 8 Personality Traits Women Love

Men are visual; it’s why they always want the lights on. Science has proved it and, in the same vein, supported the claim that women are simply complexwhat an oxymoron.

But what women want is actually fairly forthright. For droves of them, physicality is not everything. Women want a man brimming with brains and emotional depth to some capacity.

You might not always feel like the total package, or even know what that entails. So we’ve rounded up several personality traits women often seek in serious partners. Now you can emphasize your best qualities and… you know, score!

1. Aptitude.
Intelligence goes beyond the books and business acumen. A man who is adept at his craft, be it selling commercial real estate or mixing cocktails, is $exy. Women are captivated by challenge, and he who has the ambition to challenge himself to any level gives us both an opportunity to learn something from him and motivation to challenge ourselves. That’s always a turn-on.

2. Charisma.
Wit and humor are the je ne sais quoi of charm. A man who can laugh at our poorly executed jokes and himself is someone with whom we want to hang. An affable personality in the room eases vibes and makes us feel comfortable being ourselves.

3. M0ral Integrity.
People inevitably have disagreements, but a man who can keep an open mind, respect disparities and value constructive debate has the level of maturity that women seek. He knows right from wrong but also understands this his right has the potential to be someone else’s wrong.

4. Emotional Depth.
Honest conversation that goes beyond the surface is critical. Most women are attracted to men who can open up; doing so builds a level of trust that becomes a two-way street.

5. Presence.
We live in a world short-circuited by technology that makes for incessant distractions. So someone who can be consciously connected to the here and now is hugely appreciated. Women look for attentive listeners and communicative partners who express themselves in ways beyond words. Keying in on seemingly insignificant things we’ve said, surprising us or just lending a genuine ear tell us that you’re in it to win it.

6. Equal Parts Finality and Spontaneity.
Having confidence and direction in making decisions is enticing. We’re more likely to go out with the man who says, “Meet me at Ulysses at 8,” than the guy who asks, “Well, where should we go?” We want to spend time with you; it doesn’t matter where. But, of course, we do want and should have input. Rule of thumb: If you ask us out, be direct. We’ll say no if we want; the back-and-forth is just exasperating. If we ask you out, a spontaneous date open for anything is just as attractive.

7. Dependability.
Even if you don’t have children, or don’t plan to, women will gravitate toward a family-oriented man who proves to be a reliable role model—for his nephew, the neighbor’s kid down the street, his brother or the new guy at work. A dependable man is well balanced; he knows how to manage and prioritize work, friends, family and a relationship wisely.

8. s*xual Mastery.
When it comes to the bedroom, most importantly just know: It’s not necessarily finished because you finished. Educate yourself.

Man City’s Gabriel Jesus Could Return To Action Soon – Guardiola

Gabriel Jesus could be in contention to play in the FA Cup final if Manchester City get there, coach Pep Guardiola has said.

Gabriel has been out of action since breaking a metatarsal in his right foot at Bournemouth on Feb. 13.

The Brazil international had an operation soon afterwards and Guardiola said that, if his recovery continues to go well, he could feature in the final games of the season.

“The crutches are gone,” the City boss told a news conference. “He has started to walk, and hopefully he can come back to the pitches and start to run.

“Hopefully he can help us in the last games of the season and come back for us in the preseason.”

City face Arsenal in the FA Cup semifinals on April 23 and the sides meet at the Emirates in the Premier League on Sunday.

Gabriel and long-term absentee Ilkay Gundogan are the only players unavailable for the trip with Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna all fit after minor injuries in the international break.

A victory for City would see them move 10 points clear of Arsenal and heap more pressure on Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

But Guardiola has praised Wenger and said he believes he can turn the club around, adding: “When he goes back to winning, the fans will be happy again I promise you — 100 percent.

“The Premier League is not easy to win, but I’m pretty sure the fans respect a lot what Arsene Wenger has done and is doing.

“People should understand how difficult football is today — all the teams are more prepared.

“When the bosses decide, or Arsene decides, to stay and keep going, he believes it is the best solution and the best for Arsenal.

“I’m not here to judge what they have to do and what is going to happen. The players judge what they see every day in the training sessions.

“Some of them are happy, some of them are unhappy, especially the players who don’t play. But for the fans it depends on results, not something else.”

Guardiola was also asked about how Brexit might affect football after the United Kingdom triggered Article 50 to begin the process of leaving the European Union.

The former Barcelona coach said: “What happens in two years is a new situation and you have to adapt.

“The work and the rules have to be the same for everybody. Why would football be exceptions to lawyers or architects who are not able to work but football players yes? Why?

“I think it has to be but, again, you are able to vote and not all the places can do that.”

JAMB Candidates Lament Stressful Registration Process As They Seek Extension

Prospective candidates for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (2017) conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Friday described ongoing registration process as very slow, cumbersome, expensive and stressful.

Some of the candidates who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in separate interviews in Kaduna and Kano, called on JAMB to extend the period for the registration.

They also urged JAMB to revert to the former registration process, which according to them is more easier and friendly.

One of them, Emmanuel Augustine, said at JAMB office in Kaduna that he was yet to complete the registration one week after he began.

“You would first open a personal profile in JAMB websites using an active personal e-mail address, proceed to the bank, pay for the form, get a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and then proceed to the CBT centre, pay for registration fee and be captured.

“But I tell you, it is not as easy as it sounds, because it takes days for one to get his PIN.

“In Jaiz Bank for example, where I paid for the form, it took five days before I got my PIN and I was going there every day.

“You can imagine the expenses, and I am still struggling to get registered.

“You can see the crowd; I was here since 6 a.m., but I am not still sure if I will get registered today,” Mr. Augustine said.

Another candidate, Victor Jacob, said it took him two weeks, from the day of the commencement of the registration till March 31 to get registered.

“Event at that, I am asked to return on Monday for thump print.

“Before coming to JAMB office, I was going to Dembo International School, but the crowd is huge, I spent days without making progress.

“From there, I went to another centre in Kakuri and the story was the same.

“We are suffering, and we spend huge amount of money on transport and feeding every day for the past two weeks for a registration that is not supposed to take more than 30 minutes using the old system,” he said.

Similarly, Adamu Alhassan, said he paid for the JAMB form at Zenith Bank in Zaria, last week Monday, but could not get his PIN, as such was unable to proceed with the registration processes.

“Could you believe that I have been going back to the bank everyday only for the officials to tell me today that I have to come to JAMB office to get my PIN and I have been here since 9:30 but no one attended to me,” Mr. Alhassan said.

On her part, Rebecca Jatau, revealed that café owners have taken advantage of the cumbersome process to exploit prospective candidates.

According to her, some café owners are collecting from N500 and above to open e-mail and personal profile for prospective candidates.

“Although I was able to pay for JAMB form in Union Bank and got my PIN same day, I had to pay N500 in a Café to create a personal profile in the JAMB website”.

Kubai Ayuba, another prospective candidate, told NAN at Dambo International School Barnawa, one of the CBT centres, that she started the registration process a week ago.

“I managed to pay for the form on Friday last week in Jaiz Bank, but could not get my PIN until yesterday, Thursday.

“When I came back yesterday, I was told to go and pay another N700 for the registration, which I did, but as am talking to you now, I don’t know when I would be registered considering the crowd.

“We prefer the old process where Cafes are involved and one can walk into any of the registered cafés and get registered in less than an hour,” Mr. Ayuba said.

However, one of the registration officers at Dambo International School, Micah Gagara, blamed the slow pace of the registration on network failure and applicants disregard to strict guidelines.

“Beside internet network that slows down the registration process, some of the applicants would make payment in the bank without a functional e-mail, some have inconsistent names, confusing or incomplete information,” Mr. Gagara said.

When contacted, JAMB Coordinator in Kaduna State, Emmanuel Aduku, declined comment, saying he had to seek clearance from JAMB Headquarters in Abuja.

In Kano, prospective candidates are also facing similar problems, with CBT centres unable to register candidates due to persistent network failure.

One of the candidates, Sani Umar, said he had been going to Rainbow Tech CBT Centre at Rijiyar Zaki along BUK road for over four days without getting registered.

“For the past four days, I have been going to the centre but up to this time I am speaking with you I have not completed the registration,” he said.

Another female candidate, Aisha Musa, said poor network in most of the registration centres had discouraged many candidates, who kept coming without being registered.

“I know some candidates who completed the registration forms but they are yet to have their thumbprint due to poor network at the cafes,” she said.

She called on JAMB to ease the candidates’ stress by extending the period for the registration to reduce the hardships being encountered by candidates.

A NAN Correspondent who monitored the exercise in Kano metropolis reports that large number of candidates have besieged CBT centres waiting to be registered.

At M-net Internet Cafe, some of the candidates urged JAMB to extend the deadline for the registration.

“Unless the board extends the registration period, many candidates may not register which means they will not sit for the examination this year,” Usman Bello, one of the candidates said.

5 Ways Your Girlfriend May Be Destroying Your Health

1. Weight Gain
It’s a common belief that couples “let themselves go” after pairing off, and there may be something to it. According to a 2012 review, folks tend to gain weight after they’ve settled into a happy marriage or relationship. The fix? Ask your girl to hit the gym with you or cook healthy meals together rather than always eating out. You’ll get fitter and save a ton of cash.

2. Stress Levels
While regular physical intimacy reduces stress, disputes outside the bedroom can lead to more of it. Disagreements over money, jealousy and other issues can add a lot of anxiety to your life. Best solution? Transparency. Try to be honest about your problems, and ask her to as well. Open lines of communication can totally make a difference.

3. Sleep Woes
Sleeping next to your significant other can help you fully relax and embrace sleep. A huge exception to that rule, of course, is if your bedmate keeps you up by snoring, or by tossing and turning. A 2015 poll found that people were more likely to experience daytime fatigue and fitful sleep cycles if their partner was struggling with insomnia.

4. Depression
Stress, lack of sleep, and depression often go hand in hand. So it makes sense that your relationship can trigger depressive episodes in complex ways. Fraught relationships have been proven to dramatically increase the risk of clinical depression, especially if your partner has a tendency to be unfaithful.

5. Alcohol Abuse
Your romantic partner may be causing you to drink more than you normally would. One study, which followed more than 600 couples during the first four years of their marriage, concluded that people’s drinking habits tend to mirror those of their spouses. If your girl is a heavy drinker, you may fall into that pattern too.

Overall lesson? Be picky about whom you date, and if a relationship looks like it’s going south, get out or get the help you and her both need.

Fuel Scarcity Looms As Petroleum Tanker Drivers Threaten To Embark On Nationwide Strike

The Petroleum Tankers Drivers (PTD) arm of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) says it will commence a nationwide strike on Monday.

Fuel scarcity looms as petroleum tanker drivers threaten to embark on nationwide strike

NUPENG’s President, Mr Igwe Achese, announced this in a signed communique on Friday in Lagos, at the end of its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held at the union’s secretariat in Yaba.

The communique said the strike would draw the attention of the Federal Government and other stakeholders to some unresolved issues bordering on the welfare of workers, such as bad roads, poor remuneration, insecurity and the alleged excesses of some security agencies.

“The CWC-in-Session considers inhumane, the refusal of the National Association of Transport Owners (NARTO) to commence negotiation with the union for the renewal of the expired Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) on the working conditions of our Tanker Driver members in the PTD branch, after several appeals and even an ultimatum.

“The CWC-in-Session, therefore, resolves to give full backing to any industrial action the members in this sector might decide to take with effect from Monday, April 3, 2017.

“To avert the pains and discomfort the action might cause, the CWC-in-Session calls on the Federal Government to urgently intervene and apprehend the unfortunate situation, to enable NARTO meet its obligations to tanker drivers,’’ the communique said.

The communique also called on the National Assembly to urgently pass the Petroleum Industry Bill, in order to tackle all the issues of corruption plaguing the oil sector.

It also called for the commercialisation of the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), as well as the turn-around-maintenance for the refineries, to increase local production and reduce the importation of petroleum products.

The communique commended the efforts of the federal government to encourage operators of illegal refineries to be integrated into the establishment of modular refineries.

The union also vowed to resist any attempt to increase the pump price of petrol.

It also commended efforts of the government to shore up the Naira against the Dollar and the decline in the inflationary rate to 17.5 per cent.

The communique, however, called on government to address the challenges of poverty, unemployment, hunger and the rising cost of goods and services.

It also appealed to government to adopt measures to restructure the economy, as well as address challenges confronting the power sector.

The association commended the federal government’s determined efforts at eliminating the Boko Haram sect from the Sambisa forest, but called for increased military intelligence gathering to stem the spate of bombings in Maiduguri, Borno.
